Late October is when the direct catamarans between Split and Hvar town start to disappear. Jadrolinija's seasonal line 641 ran until 11 October. TP Line's line 652 carries on until the end of the month, leaving Split at 08:15, 11:15 and 15:45, and Krilo keeps going until 15 November with departures at 09:00 and 13:00. Coming back, TP Line leaves Hvar at 09:30, 12:30 and 17:00, and Krilo at 10:30 and 14:30.
Both are commercial services with no public-service contract: AOLPP lists their timetables but neither funds nor contracts them. That is why there is no off-season or island-resident fare, and a ticket still costs €25. Krilo quotes 50 minutes for the crossing and TP Line 60.
So until 31 October there are five direct sailings a day from Split, and from 1 to 15 November two.

€25 whatever the month
Because these are commercial routes rather than state lines, there is no cheaper off-season fare: a single from Split to Hvar is €25 in October just as in August, with either company, the same in both directions and with port charges and VAT included.
TP Line charges children aged 3 to 12 half the adult fare, and the same for a pet in a carrier; infants travel ticketless and toddlers under three ride on a free ticket. Krilo's published fare table lists the adult price only.

Two berths in Split, one waterfront in Hvar
Split harbour – berths 8a (TP Line) and 15 (Krilo)
On the port authority's departure list for 26 October, TP Line's Hvar catamaran Puntamika leaves from berth 8a and Krilo's Krilo Carbo from berth 15. The two companies use different berths and sell separate tickets, so check whose boat you have booked before you walk down the quay. Berths are assigned daily and shown on the harbour boards.
Hvar town waterfront (Riva)
These boats land in Hvar town itself, in the west of the island, not at Stari Grad, where the car ferry from Split arrives. Krilo warns that Hvar's port authority has lowered the speed limit for entering the harbour, so small delays are possible on every line that calls there.
Straight from Split to Hvar town
Hvar town lies towards the island's western tip, due south of Split, with Šolta and Brač in between. The direct catamarans make no intermediate calls. Krilo gives the crossing as 50 minutes and TP Line as 60; neither they nor AOLPP publish a distance.
Reaching Hvar town as the season winds down
- End dates
TP Line's direct boats stop after 31 October and Krilo's after 15 November. Jadrolinija's line 641 has already finished for 2026.
- Winter options
Hvar town stays on the routes of the state fast boats to Korčula and Lastovo, which run all year.
- Bringing a car
These catamarans take foot passengers only. Motorists use the Stari Grad car ferry out of Split, or Drvenik – Sućuraj.
- Book the right company
Krilo and TP Line tickets are not interchangeable, so plan your return on the same operator or buy a new ticket.
- Allow a few minutes
Krilo warns of possible small delays at Hvar because of a lower speed limit for entering the harbour.
Once the direct boats stop, Hvar town is still served all year by state fast-boat lines that call there on the way south: TP Line's catamaran 9604 to Vela Luka and Lastovo and catamaran 9608 to Prigradica and Korčula. On the Split port authority's list for 26 October they leave at 14:00 and 16:00 respectively. On Tuesdays Krilo's catamaran 9602 to Vis also calls at Hvar.
Do not confuse Hvar town with the island's other ports. Stari Grad and Jelsa, on the north coast, have their own links with Split; Jadrolinija's catamaran 9603 via Bol serves Jelsa daily and Stari Grad on weekdays. Until 31 October Krilo also calls at Hvar on its longer Split – Milna – Hvar – Korčula – Pomena – Dubrovnik route.
