Line 9603 is timed for island residents who need a day in Split. On weekdays the catamaran leaves Jelsa at 06:00, calls at Bol at 06:20 and reaches Split at 07:30; on Saturdays everything is an hour later, and on Sundays the only sailing off the islands leaves Jelsa at 13:00. The return leaves Split at 16:30 every day and gets to Jelsa at 18:00.
Between those two runs the same boat makes a weekday round trip to Stari Grad: out of Split at 11:30, into Stari Grad at 12:30, and back from Stari Grad at 14:00 from 27 October. That trip misses out Bol and Jelsa and is not run on public holidays.
For a visitor this means the line works best one way, as part of a longer island stay. Jadrolinija operates it, and the winter fare from Split to Bol, Stari Grad or Jelsa is €6.40.

One fare from Split, whichever island you choose
Line 9603 charges the same from Split to every island port: €6.40 for an adult and €4.40 per child (3–12) in the off-season, against €10.00 for an adult in summer. The short hop between Bol and Jelsa costs €4.20.
This is a passenger-only boat, so there is no vehicle fare. Jadrolinija ties catamaran tickets to the departure you choose, unlike its car ferries, whose tickets stay valid all day. Return legs are priced like outward ones, and VAT plus the port fee are already in the figure.

Berth 6a in Split, the Bol and Jelsa quays
Split harbour – fast-boat berth 6a
The port authority's public departure list for 26 October shows both of this line's Split departures, the 11:30 to Stari Grad and the 16:30 to Bol and Jelsa, at berth 6a with the catamaran Karolina. Berths are allocated day by day, so check the boards on the quay or the port authority's online list before you walk down. The bus and railway stations are on the same harbour.
Jelsa catamaran landing, Hvar
Jelsa, on Hvar's north coast, is the end of the line and the catamaran overnights there, which is why the weekday departure is as early as 06:00. Jadrolinija's office on the Riva opens an hour before sailings.
In Bol, tickets are sold at the Grabov rat sales point on Uz Pjacu 2, half an hour before departure and for the fast boats only. Stari Grad's Jadrolinija office at the ferry landing opens daily from 04:30 to 18:00.
From Split to Brač's south coast, then across to Hvar
Bol lies on the south coast of Brač, facing Hvar; Jelsa sits across the Hvar Channel on Hvar's north shore. On the timetable the evening boat leaves Bol at 17:40 and reaches Jelsa at 18:00. Neither AOLPP nor Jadrolinija publishes the route the boat takes round Brač or a distance; the published figure is the time, 1 hour 5 minutes from Split to Bol.
Before you travel on line 9603
- Not a day trip from Split
From October the lone Split – Bol departure leaves at 16:30 and Bol's first sailing back is at dawn the following day, so a visit to Bol means staying the night.
- Buy for the right sailing
Catamaran tickets are tied to the departure you pick. Choose the boat you will actually catch.
- No cars
Line 9603 has no vehicle deck. With a hire car you need a car ferry, for example Split – Supetar for Brač or Split – Stari Grad for Hvar.
- Sunday is different
On Sundays and public holidays there is no early boat off the islands: it leaves Jelsa at 13:00.
- Not Hvar town
This line calls at Jelsa and, on weekdays, Stari Grad. For Hvar town take a different catamaran.
Jadrolinija sails 9603 under a public-service contract awarded by AOLPP. Its quoted 1 hour 5 minutes from Split to Bol matches the timetable. Hvar town, at the island's western tip, is not on this line; out of season it has its own direct catamarans from Split to Hvar town.
Brač has other links too. Drivers usually cross by car ferry, for instance from Makarska to Sumartin on the island's east end, while the west of the island is served by the line 9601 fast boat to Milna via Rogač. What line 9603 offers that the others do not is a direct hop between Bol and Jelsa, across the Hvar Channel, for €4.20.
Bol, Jelsa and Stari Grad by catamaran: common questions
Split to Bol: how many minutes on board?

Not on this catamaran out of season. It reaches Bol in the early evening, and the earliest return from Bol is 06:25 on the next weekday.
Does this boat go to Hvar town?
No. On Hvar it calls at Jelsa, and on weekdays at Stari Grad on a separate 11:30 sailing from Split. Hvar town is served by other catamarans.
Stari Grad by catamaran: on what days?
Working weekdays only (not public holidays): out of Split at 11:30, in at 12:30. From 27 October it leaves Stari Grad again at 14:00.
